Oregon is a sanctuary state, but we have a sorted history with white supremacy, so that is what we are dealing with here. Eight years of Obama enraged this group. Plus the eastern part of the state wants to join Idaho, such stupidity.
Democracy continues to show us what an experiment it really is. The challenges are never ending.

Some of the legislation that has been proposed in our former home state is off the charts. Terribly limiting and conformist. It is infuriating to see the strange hold some politicians want to place on the lives of the people they serve.
The very reasons I needed to get out of the midwest/plains. ND and SD it seems are the worst when it comes to allowing for differences and true individual rights. This is not news because I obviously felt it since I was young. Cannot imagine how you are holding up within the realm of politics in SD. Hopefully you are finding vehicles to help you through it all!
Unfortunately, I've adopted a wait and see approach. I keep to my business and watch. I just can't fight this fight right now. I need the 30 and 40 somethings to step the F up. However, if this nonsense ever impacts my grandchildren, grandma bear will come out of hibernation.
