Emotional Ambivalence…holding 2 conflicting feelings at the same time, such as joy and sorrow. We do this daily, often without even realizing it. (Btw…sweet new puppy!!)

Emotional Ambivalence, a good description. I prefer to feel it all, so that makes me susceptible to overwhelm. Which is why I write and create art to level me out. Most people cannot handle that kind of overwhelm and stay silent to keep from imploding, which is totally understood.

I said we would not get a puppy after Sophie. It has been almost 2 years, and it seems I have softened to Doug's need for a four-legged companion. I love dogs, just not the responsibility. So he's in charge of the training, and when she's ready, I look forward to taking her for walks and sitting at my feet in the studio.

Thanks for the encouraging words as we struggle to keep joy in our daily lives. Love the new pup!
